Ever do something really dumb? Well, I might be by myself on this, no take that back, my INSANE friend, who shall remain nameless (wife of Scott Smith), has been really dumb before too! Dana called me on Thursday of this week and said that the Cheetah Girls were coming to Alltel Arena in December. Of course I was interested in this, anyone who has a 7 year old little girl knows that this is a BIG deal. I said, yeah, count us in....she said she would call back with the details later...One day later (FRIDAY, NOON) she calls and says that she has called the box office and they are expecting tickets to go like hotcakes. She asks them when the box office opens and they say 10 a.m. but we expect people to be lining up for them around 6 a.m. Well. We got the kids after school and went to LR in search of dinner and a movie and a hotel and Cheetah Girl tickets.
We got in around 11 after the movie and got kids to bed and woke up 5 minutes later (5:30 a.m. - yes, it does come twice a day...who knew??) to go get Cheetah tickets. We got up and got the kids dressed and at 6:30 we were sitting in front of ALLTEL arena with 7 other Psychotic women. About 8 or 9 a few more showed and by 10 there was about 55 people there. You were allowed only 8 tickets per person. We had a plan...we would get right beside box office and windows and make sure we were in the same row...We wanted to be on the FLOOR in the ACTION....we were the 2nd people to our window and we were lucky to get in the same section...all of our tickets are split up and we are in the CHEAP SEATS. They had sold 2500 tickets the day before (I guess to the corporate giants and those with special priveleges) and by the time we got to order our tickets at about 10:08 we were already in the back of the floor people in the CHEAP seats! To top it off, we were going to get back in line for another friend and get her tickets, but she ordered hers online about 2 minutes after we did and got the same section! I was in UTTER SHOCK AND DISMAY at the thought that I could be sitting home in my PJ's, drinking coffee, and ordering tickets with a slight processing fee...yet, I had bought a hotel room, dinner, lunch, and shopping the next day, and spent 4 hours in line for the same ticket she got for $9 extra dollars. UUUGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!! I think if you care enough to spend the effort, time and money you should get to sit on the Front Row! Call me Crazy!

Ok...the guy in the picture is NOT Stacy. I know you were all wondering...I haven't gotten my pics developed yet, so I will hopefully have something that is printable soon. We decided to go last minute to Branson and spend our last days of freedom before school starts for the kids on Monday and me on Wednesday we can only say BOO!
Hudson & Hannah had a blast! Hudson announced after coming down the water slide, "This is my Best Life Ever!"
Mini-vacations are good for the soul!
Hope you take the time to spend some quality time with your family soon.

This is Addison Smith and she lives in Georgia. She is the daughter of my bestest friend, Tamma. Tamma and her husband, Thad, were our neighbors in seminary. We shared many a meal and many a laugh and quite a few tears. When Tamma and Thad went to seminary, they had been married a few years. They had lived in a nice place and got the CALL to come to seminary. When Tamma stepped into the "Gospel Ghetto" she sat down in her empty triplex apartment and BAWLED! They live in Georgia and I don't see them but once every few years. I hate that we aren't closer. But we are kindred spirits.
This pic of Addison reminds me of SUMMER. I have been in summer school and barring a test today online I will be done. "School's out for 8 days, 8 days" I wish I could say Summer but I will be going back on July 6 for second term. A word to the wise, NEVER skip a week of summer school! It is like skipping 5 weeks of regular school. I went with Stacy to the Southern Baptist convention in Greensboro, NC. It was lovely and I am glad I got the opportunity to go and spend time seeing old seminary friends and spending lots of time with Candy and Tracy, but I paid the Piper yesterday! I had to take 3 tests yesterday and turn in a paper! I am SO glad it is over.
I know that is has been a month since I have posted. I hope that I can get back on the wagon for a few days!

Stacy is really missing the football lately. He has been following baseball but it doesn't have the effect that football has on him. I have actually enjoyed no football...I know what you are all thinking..I should love my husband and his obsessions...but we have had so much more family time without footballl. I am enjoying all the extra time.
I am finally through with the semester. I didn't come out like I wanted I got 2 b's and 1 a. I really expected 2 a's. I've never been one to worry about grades, so why start now? I just want the degree. No one has ever asked me what my GPA was in high school or college. I have found that having that little sheep skin is all I have ever needed to get a job. So, I am not going to stress over the B.
I am starting school back in a few weeks. I am going to enjoy the next couple of weeks. I went to the Library today and got some books that were just for fun reading. I haven't read in a long while something that wasn't related to school, so I am glad to read something just for me.
Hudson is wound up with T-ball. It is so much fun. I love it. I am quite afraid I am going to be one of those parents. You know the kind that wears the buttons, has the big stickers with name and number on the back windshield, the kind of parent that has the "unofficial" score card to make sure the other team is batting right and that we have so and so runs...I am scared of what I might become.
Hannah is playing softball on a traveling team and I am LOVING that. We are playing Saturday in El Dorado or Hope. We are not sure which town yet. Watching these girls is bringing back the old days for me. I love the cheers and chants and ponytails.
WHOOO HOOO SUMMERTIME!!!!!!!!!!
I am lovin life!
